"Our busiest time of the year is during April when our area plays host to the ARCTIC MAN CLASSIC!"  Drawing thousands into this area, this is the largest snow machine and skiing event in Alaska. One catchy phrase describing the action is, "Go fast or go home!"  

The following excerpt is taken from an article written in the April 10, 2001 edition of the Daily News-Miner located in Fairbanks, Alaska.  The author of the article was Amanda Bohman.

Arctic Man is Alaska's premier snow machining event. The race is a daredevil event in which skiers schuss down a mountain, are towed up another at a high speed by a snow machine and then ski down a second slope. There's a snowboarding division, too. Race speeds can hit more than 80 mph.
