Home Groups at Delta Christian Center

What is a home group? It is what you make it. Home groups are small intimate gatherings designed for fellowship, evangelism, support and Kingdom living. Currently DCC has 1 home group, meeting on Wednesday evenings. More will be added as need and interest increases.

If you are interested in being a part of a home group, please call the church office at 895-4531 and leave a message.

Gene and Anne Reierson’s group meets at 7:00 in various homes. They can be reached at 895.1831 for current location and more information.

• A time of worship or praise
• Opportunity to share prayer needs or praise reports
• Fellowship around snacks
• A lesson or topical discussion or Bible study. Often groups will watch a DVD or listen to a CD of a recent training that the leaders feel will benefit the group.
• Scriptures are referenced, studied, discussed as applied to each topic, need or meeting.

The Vision of Delta Christian Center Home Groups is:

“…to equip members to do God’s work to fulfill His purpose in their lives, in His body (the Church) and in the community.:

The groups will provide:
• A safe place to develop relationships
• An opportunity to grow in the use of gifts of the Spirit
• Growth in understanding of His Word and Kingdom principles
• Prayer support for personal needs and issues.

If you have an interest in a home group or ideas for a group or focus you would like to see, please call Tana Wood at 895.2045.

We would like to see everyone established in a small group. Check us out!

At one of the home group meetings, the group learned why the shofar was used and learned how to sound it.

The Shofar is the ritual instrument of the ancient and modern Hebrews, the only Hebrew cultural instrument to have survived until now.

Shofar sounding the Tekiah: the "blast," one long blast with a clear tone.
Shofar sounding the Shevarim: a "broken," sighing sound of three short calls.
The Teruah: the "alarm," a rapid series of nine or more very short notes.
The Tekiah Gedolah: "the great Tekiah," a single unbroken blast, held as long as possible.
A combination of Tekiah, Shevarim, Teruah, ending with a Tekiah Gedolah.

Salvation
Any person can become a new "spiritual" person in Jesus Christ, with the forgiveness of sins, removal of guilt, and inward change of heart, by believing in Jesus Christ and turning away from sin. This is what it means to be born-again. There is fellowship and teaching in the Church to grow up into maturity.
