DCC in January 1984 celebrated its first meeting in Mentasta
Village. Several other villages joined in that first meeting. There
had not been any consistent ministry there for many, many years.
Mentasta means Shallow Lake, it is the home of the upper Copper
River "Headwater" people. There are approximately 110 people in the
village.
Several have been water baptized, filled with the spirit and married
since January 1984. This was the month DCC held it's first meeting
there. No suicides among the natives have occurred since then! To
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit be all the
Glory!

Salvation
Any person can become a new "spiritual" person in Jesus Christ, with
the forgiveness of sins, removal of guilt, and inward change of
heart, by believing in Jesus Christ and turning away from sin. This
is what it means to be born-again. There is fellowship and teaching
in the Church to grow up into maturity.

Jail Ministry
When
I was in prison you visited me...Generally, every few months DCC leads a
team from the Delta Community known in the Fairbanks Correctional Center
(FCC) as the 'Delta Singers'. We bring a worship team of musicians-
guitars, drums, bass guitar, flute and keyboard and a group of singers.
This team has had Baptists, Assembly of God, Lutheran, Fairbanks churches
and others get background checks, frisked & go through the metal detector
to go into the jail on a Friday night. We pass through 3 sets of iron bars
to get into the gym. We have had up to 100 inmates come and the Lord has
brought 35-50 inmates for ministry at the conclusion of the invitation.
Many have found their way into the Kingdom of God at these meetings.
